You can play the Daily Matrix Mania game for free as often as you like. If you log in, your name will appear on the Leaderboard for free, and you can access one free Spelling Lesson. You'll need to subscribe to unlock all Matrix Mania games and Spelling Lessons. Click "Join Now" to subscribe

Click the "Join Now" button to subscribe and access all Spelling Lessons and Matrix Mania games. You can click the profile picture or "Log In" button on the home screen to log in without subscribing. This lets you see your name on the Leaderboard and access one free Spelling Lesson.

Spellable is designed with adults in mind, but older students can also benefit from the Spelling Lessons and Matrix Mania with the help of a teacher, tutor, or another adult.

While Spellable's primary goal is to help adults improve their spelling, it also offers an excellent opportunity to enhance vocabulary. At the end of a Matrix Mania game or a Spelling Lesson quiz, click or hover over any unfamiliar words to see their definitions and learn something new. Additionally, some Matrix Mania matrices provide the base word's denotation. If present, the denotation will appear in gray print directly under the base word (shown in blue). Consider how this denotation relates to the meaning of words within the base, and then try to apply this understanding to other words encountered in daily life that share the same base.

You can watch the instructional video that appears before playing Matrix Mania. To access this video later, click on "Instructional Videos" and select "How to Play Matrix Mania."

A word matrix is a visual tool that shows the structure and relationships within a morphological family of words. In a word matrix, a base word is central, and prefixes (added to the beginning) and suffixes (added to the end) are arranged around it to show how different words are formed. This helps users understand how words are built and related through shared morphemes, the smallest units that contribute to the meaning of a word. For example, in a word matrix for the base word "play," you might see words like "player," "playing," and "played," illustrating how different prefixes and suffixes modify the base word to create new meanings. While most matrices traditionally have one working base, Spellable occasionally focuses on a suffix or multiple bases when deemed helpful for learning to spell.

The morpheme in blue is the unit all words in the matrix must contain. Usually, this is a base word, but it can sometimes be a suffix or prefix.

Words in bold, black font represent additional base words that can combine with the main base to form compound words. These bold words are not required in every word in the matrix but show how the main base can be extended to create new words.

If a specific rule needs to be followed, it will be displayed just below the matrix. To learn the rule, click "Instructional Videos" and then select the applicable video.

This can happen inadvertently when building a matrix. For example, if the target word of a matrix is (ac + com + mode + ate), the less common word (com + mode + ate) will also exist in the matrix. This is a great chance to expand your vocabulary! At the end of the game, simply click or hover over any unfamiliar words to see their definitions and learn something new.

Completing all parts of a lesson the first time is advisable, but you do not have to. If you have completed all five parts of a lesson once, you may skip to the most helpful parts when reviewing.

Go to the home page and choose whether you want to practice a word in a game of Matrix Mania or as part of a Spelling Lesson. For Spelling Lessons, any speller can use the search button at the bottom of the Commonly Misspelled Words list. You can access one free Spelling Lesson that is unlocked if logged in. For Matrix Mania, only subscribed users can search the database. Click on "Matrix Mania Game," then "Start," and type the word you're looking for below the matrices. Click "Join Now" to subscribe and access this feature
