      How to write word sums

      One word sum per line

      Put a + between the elements: mis + chieve + ous. Every sum needs the working base in it.

      The arrow is optional

      mis + chieve + ous works on its own. An arrow only names the finished word, and that word isn't drawn, so you can leave it out. Word first or sum first both work: hoping → hope + ing or hope + ing → hoping.

      Arrows you can use: → -> --> ---> =>

      Another base in the word

      Start an element with a capital letter to mark it as a second base. It is drawn in bold: rain + Bow.

      Twin bases

      Put a / between two spellings of the same base in the working base box, like chief/chieve. Each sum uses one of them.

      Hide a line

      Start a line with # to keep it in the box without drawing it: # hopefully → hope + ful + ly.

      Notes (Studio)

      Start a line with * to write a note under the matrix: * Follow the Drop <e> Rule.

      To link a note to one element, put a * straight after that element, like force* + ed. The note line that starts with the same number of stars is linked to it, and both get a star. Use ** for a second note and *** for a third.

      Add | to a note for a smaller second line: * Follow the Drop <e> Rule | forced, forcing, forcible.
